Organosilicone Defoamers

Obtaining the surface active properties of silicone with superior compatibility in aqueous mediums is difficult. Careful modification of the silicone polymer with organic groups provide the highly surface active hydrophobic silicone polymer with the necessary compatibility to disperse and provide antifoam and levelling properties in coatings, metal working fluids, and inks.

Polymer Defoamer

The development of polymeric based defoamers is a newer technology with a limited but important scope. Silicone’s are universally praised for their performance, but deposition in processes like pulp and paper are unavoidable. Similar issues arise with oil based defoamers, and water based emulsions are destroyed in extreme environments. The polymeric defoamers for kraft and sulfite pulp processes, as well as oil/gas, are a concentrated alternative to traditional chemistry and can function as a deaerator and antifoam.

Solvent Based

Emulsions and dilution is typically done with water. Handling, production, and transportation with solvent bases poses a higher risk than water based products, but some applications still require the performance and benefit of a solvent base. Our solvent based defoamers function with active silicone compounds and are diluted with various solvent to match the demands of your process.
